  • Greensboro Ideal Home Show 2018
    In The Spring 2018

In Spring 2018, Kathy Gordon Interiors was selected as a local design talent to participate in the Greensboro Ideal Home Show, hosted at the Greensboro Coliseum. KGI showed in one six spaces that comprise the Designer Room Showcase. These spaces are like your favorite design magazine or Pinterest board come to life. Check out our room, “Carolina Farmhouse”:

Crafting a uniquely Carolina Farmhouse home means blending rustic metals and wood finishes with colorful accents to create a family friendly living space that is as sustainable as it is gracious. Kathy Gordon Interiors has infused the Farmhouse trend with livable, stain resistant fabrics, that hold up to pillow fights and pizza nights. On-trend, fashion-forward accessories add a sunny Southern twist to the Farmhouse foundation of neutral walls, distressed wood, black accents and pops of green, making this space uniquely suited for Carolina Living.

Kathy also gave a great On-Stage Talk on, “Making Your Home Magazine Ready”. In it, she went over some great ways to tie a space together with furniture, softgoods, and art to make a space harmonious and to reflect the unique character of the people who live in it every day!

    Union Hill's Teachers Lounge

“Together with a network of manufacturers, suppliers, and retailers from the North Carolina Furniture Institute (NCFI) and Jamestown Presbyterian Church, Kathy designed a comfortable teacher’s lounge for the hard-working staff at Union Hill Elementary School.”

  • Dr. Phil: Hurricane Katrina
After Hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans in 2006

“After Hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans in 2006, Boyles Furniture was contacted by the Dr. Phil Show and DIY Network for help with a series of charitable design projects to help get three families back into their homes. Kathy was selected to work with one of these families to select furniture, accessories, mattresses and window treatments for their new spaces. Kathy and her team then filled the truck and headed to New Orleans for the installation. On Friday October 27, 2006 the Dr. Phil Show surprised the families with the reveal of their homes restored and furnished.”

Testimonials

We had just moved from another state and our furnishings, while many of them quality pieces, could best be described as a hodge-podge plunked down into our new home and surroundings. We needed to furnish guest rooms and somehow pull together the living room and the upstairs television viewing room. Kathy, to the rescue! She drew up numerous plans, explained the advantages of each, and let us decide. Then, using her extensive contacts, she ushered us around High Point, and helped us choose the right pieces and upholstery. We couldn’t be more pleased. And, she did it all within budget! We are so grateful to Kathy and would recommend her without hesitation to anyone needing assistance in achieving their dream home.

Thank you for the personal attention, grasp of our requirements, and, most importantly, quick understanding of our taste, that you displayed last Saturday. You know the stock. You do your homework. You are terrific at what you do. All together you made it possible for us to have an efficient and extremely productive buying experience in a very short period of time. I would not have believed it possible. We continue to be excited about our purchases and can’t wait for delivery!

In reference to Kathy Gordon’s furniture consultation services and products, I applaud them! Kathy has been a true gem in helping us with various rooms and products in our home, from advising us on re-doing the entire nook off our dining room to assisting us with furniture in our daughter’s room. She also helped us divide our twin sons’ bonus room so that everything is at peace up there now. (Check out Angelin’s Kitchen Makeover Here!)

Kathy regularly informs us of new products for our home, based on her observations, along with special pricing. She is knowledgeable, helpful, and thorough. I know when she puts her finger on things, they will be done 100%. I welcome her services again, both in our current home and in future homes. Best of wishes on your success, Kathy!

Four years ago we moved from our large historic home to a small urban townhouse and a country place on the river. Since both locations need furnishing a shopping trip to North Carolina has become part of my winter schedule each year. During my first trip to NC I met Kathy Gordon. Kathy caught on quickly to what I was trying to accomplish and has helped broaden my vision for our new homes by pointing out options that wouldn’t have occurred to me.

Shopping with Kathy helps me maximize my time in NC and purchase with assurance. I also appreciate her respect for cost considerations. As part of my trip last winter Kathy gave me a tour of the fabric and decorating shops in the area and we found the most wonderful piece of fabric for new living room drapes.
